Ashlin Barry is an American-Canadian professional cyclist and the 2026 UCI U23 Road Race World Champion. He races for the Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development Team and represents the United States National Team. Born September 25, 2007, in Girona, Spain, Ashlin spent much of his early childhood between Girona and Boulder, Colorado. In 2013, his family moved to Toronto, Canada, where he attended high school.

Ashlin began racing at Toronto’s Christie Pits Cookie Cycloross race. In 2022, he competed in his first track race at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre Velodrome in Milton, Ontario, and in 2023 expanded into road racing and criteriums across Canada and the United States.

In September 2026, Ashlin reached the biggest milestone of his young career when he won the Men’s U23 Road Race at the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, Canada. Racing for the United States, Ashlin spent more than 130 kilometres in the breakaway before making a decisive solo attack with just under 30 kilometres remaining. He held off the chasing field to win the rainbow jersey by 53 seconds. The victory came on his 19th birthday and marked the first-ever U23 men’s road race world championship for the United States.

The world title capped an exceptional 2026 season. Earlier in the year, Ashlin earned his first professional victory at the Metec Olympia’s Tour in the Netherlands, winning the queen stage over the VAM-Berg. In June, he won the United States U23 Road Race National Championship and the following day finished fourth in the United States Professional Road Race National Championships. At the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, he also finished fourth in the U23 Individual Time Trial.

Ashlin is a two-time Junior World Championship medallist, winning silver in the Junior Individual Time Trial at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda, and silver in the Omnium at the 2025 UCI Track World Championships in Luoyang, China. He also won silver medals in both the Omnium and Team Pursuit at the 2025 UCI Track World Cup in Konya, Turkey.

His other major results include a victory in a round of the 2024 UCI Elite World Gravel Series in Blue Mountain, Ontario, second-place finishes in the 2026 Junior Paris-Roubaix and E3 Saxo Classic, and five United States National Championship titles across road and track. He is also part of the current United States Elite Men’s Team Pursuit squad that holds the American national record with a time of 3:47.503.

Ashlin combines an unusual breadth of experience across road, track and gravel racing with a rapidly developing professional career. His 2026 U23 World Championship victory in Montréal represents the latest chapter in that progression.
